Communication, law and digital society: new technologies, social networks, media and digital law

In today's society, we observe the significant impact of new models and means of communication on digital platforms, which have profoundly transformed interactions between people and new ways of relating to each other. With the evolution of the digital medium and new forms of online presence, there is a need to establish mechanisms for the protection of rights. The everyday use of the Internet by citizens raises numerous legal implications. As a result, the field of law is facing new challenges that require adapting its legal tools, with the aim of ensuring that the development of new technologies is aligned with legal and ethical principles.

This thematic line covers the implications of users in the network and their interaction on digital platforms, which raise various legal and ethical implications that must be addressed from the field of Digital Law. The relationship between online users and the law involves regulating aspects such as privacy, personal data protection, content liability, freedom of expression, digital identity, online transactions and intellectual property rights. Adapting legal tools is essential to address these challenges and ensure a safe digital environment.

In addition, this line of research covers existing communicative practices in the digital society. New discourses in social networks, the impact of digital communication at a sociological level, new educational spaces of communication on digital platforms, communication and power, and mechanisms of information control. Therefore, papers related to communication, digital society, social networks, new technologies, digital platforms, law, institutional communication and political communication will be accepted.
